Welcome, Ambassador and Mrs. Somogyi!

The new Ambassador of Hungary, Ferenc Somogyi, and his wife, Mrs. Andrea Bors Somogyi, arrived in Washington DC yesterday with their two sons.

Ambassador Somogyi is a career diplomat. He served as Hungary's Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2006. In 1996-1998, he was Hungary's chief negotiator for NATO and EU accession. He has recently worked as the Director of International Relations at Magyar Telekom, the Hungarian subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom.
