May 27, 2008 Hungary Honors Former Joint Chiefs Chairman Peter Pace Ambassador Ferenc Somogyi presented General Peter Pace the Commander's Cross with the Star Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary (military division) at the Hungarian Embassy on May 27, 2008. General Pace
was awarded this high state recognition for his significant contributions to
strengthening U.S.-Hungarian security and military cooperation as Chairman
of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff.
