OSCE Representative Discusses Freedom of Media at Hungarian Embassy
 

On December 12, the Embassy of Hungary hosted a breakfast discussion with Mr. Miklós Haraszti, OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, for members of the diplomatic corps and researchers working at Washington think-tanks.

Mr. Haraszti offered his views on the state of media freedom in the OSCE countries. He testified on the same subject before the Helsinki Commission of the U.S. Congress on December 13.

Miklós Haraszti is a writer, journalist, human rights advocate, and a co-founder of the democratic opposition in Hungary. He has served as OSCE's media representative since 2004, now in his second term.
