Ambassador Somogyi and His Family Attend Mormon Festival of Lights
 

At the invitation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ambassador Ferenc Somogyi attended the 30th Annual Festival of Lights at the Mormon Temple with his wife Andrea and their two sons, Balázs and Bence on November 28, 2007.

The special guest artist of the evening was Lisa Hopkins Seegmiller, a classical singer and actress who has won a Tony Award for her performance in La Bohéme on Broadway in 2002-2003. Indonesia’s ambassador to the United States, Sudjadnan Parnohadiningrat delivered his message and flipped the switch that turned on the Christmas lights on the grounds of the Washington, D.C., Mormon temple.

The Christmas lights are a tradition that draws approximately 200,000 visitors to the temple each December. The month-long “Festival of Lights” will feature musical performances nightly. The public is invited to tour the grounds to see the lights, as well as Nativity scenes from around the world.
