White House Turns Pink to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness - Mrs. Somogyi Attends Symposium Hosted by Chief of Protocol Brinker


U.S. Chief of Protocol Nancy Brinker hosted the “Symposium on Breast Cancer Global Awareness” at the Blair House on October 7, 2008.

First Lady Laura Bush joined the participants at the White House and turned the White House pink for the occasion – pink is the symbolic color of the global movement to raise awareness about this horrible disease. The wife of the Hungarian Ambassador, Mrs. Andrea Bors Somogyi, a long-time supporter of the movement, was in attendance with several other women leaders from the D.C. political and social scene.

Chief of Protocol Nancy Brinker is also a former Ambassador to Budapest and the founder of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
