Trans-Atlantic Conference Held in Budapest

The prestigious Ripon Educational Fund held its annual Trans-Atlantic Conference between November 7-12, 2004, in Budapest, Hungary.

The congressional delegation lead by twelve Members of Congress and accompanied by former Members and Senior Staff from the Senate and the House, as well as by government officials and a large number of private sector businessman participated in a rigorous program of panel discussions and debates of major political and economic issues affecting U.S. – Hungarian and US - European relations.

Katalin Szili, Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly and senior members of the Hungarian Government, Ferenc Somogyi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, János Kóka, Minister of Economy and Transport, Etele Baráth Minister for European Affairs as well as the President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Szilveszter Vizi E. addressed the audience of the conference held at different historic venues in the capital city of Hungary. The 22nd annual TransAtlantic Conference focused on other specific issues as well, such as international law enforcement and health care.
