Concert and Gala Dinner honoring the Budapest Festival Orchestra and its Music Director, Ivan Fischer

The Friends of the Budapest Festival Orchestra invite you to a concert and gala dinner honoring the BFO, its Music Director Ivan Fischer, and the legacy of Sir Georg Solti on March 28, 2010 at 3:00 pm. The concert, which takes place at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, will include Beethoven's symphonies # 6 and 9 and will be the culmination of four programs presenting the complete Beethoven symphonies in four days.

Following the concert, there will be a reception and dinner on the Promenade of Avery Fisher Hall, co-chaired by Mrs. Daisy M. Soros and Mrs. Cynthia Whitehead, and honoring Maestro Ivan Fischer for his 25 years as Music Director of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. There will also be a tribute to the late conductor, Sir Georg Solti, who had a special relationship with the orchestra. The BFO was recently named one of the top 10 orchestras in the world by Gramophone Magazine. This is surely an event you will not want to miss.
