Ambassador and Mrs. Simonyi met jazz legend and harmonica
virtuoso Toots Thielemans yesterday. He was hosted by the Ambassador of Belgium
and Mrs. Van Daelen at their residence.
Mr. Thielemans later played at the famous jazz bar Blues Alley in
Georgetown to an enthusiastic crowd. Mr Thielemans is a great musician and
composer in the league of Theolonius Monk, Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie. His
first inspiration was Django Reinhardt,the Belgian-born king of the gipsy
guitar.
