The Embassy of Hungary presented a
documentary film by Shauna Lawhorne today about the Washington, DC-based
rock band the "Coalition of the Willing," which features
Ambassador András Simonyi on guitar. The screening was followed by a Q+A
session during which Ms. Lawhorne, co-producer Sonja Simonyi, as well as
Ambassador Simonyi and fellow band member Lincoln Bloomfield fielded
questions from the audience.
The Washington-based classic rock/blues band also
includes Dan Poneman, a principal with the Scowcroft Group and a former
presidential aide, on guitar; Ambassador Simonyi on guitar; U.S.
Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Alexander Vershbow on drums; Lincoln
Bloomfield, President of the international business advisory firm Palmer
Coates LLC and former Assistant Secretary of State, on bass; along with
legendary guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, formerly with Steely
Dan and the Doobie Brothers, currently a missile defense advisor to the
Pentagon and the musical director of the band.
