Hungarian PM Ferenc Gyurcsány announced his new cabinet
today. Ms. Kinga Göncz, the former Minister of Youth, Family, Social
Affairs and Equal Opportunities, will become Foreign Minister. (Read her

Kinga Göncz - Foreign Affairs
Péter Kiss - Social and Labor Affairs
József Gráf - Agriculture and Regional Development
Imre Szekeres - Defense
Miklós Persányi - Environmental Protection
Mónika Lamperth - Local Government Affairs
Ms. Göncz
was born in 1947. She is a physician by trade and a psychiatrist by
training. Prior to entering politics, she had run a psychotherapeutic
private practice. She has also taught at Eövtös Loránd University's
Institute of Sociology and been a director of Partners Hungary Foundation,
which specializes in teaching democratic theory, mediation, conflict
resolution, and negotiation techniques.
Ms. Göncz
is the daughter of former President of the Republic Árpád Göncz.
