Between February 21 and 25, 2006, a group of leading Hungarian biotech
executives, entrepreneurs and leaders of university technology transfer
offices visited Boston and the Washington DC area. Mr. Abel Garamhegyi,
Deputy State Secretary for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and
Transport, the President of Hungarian Biotechnology Association and 10
company executives were members of the delegation.
The aim of the delegation was to meet important players of the Boston and
Washington DC area biotech community in order to establish strategic
relationships in licensing, collaborative research and development projects;
contract development, testing and distribution arrangements; and technology
transfer arrangements for small, medium and large US companies.
A luncheon was hosted at Center for Strategic & International Studies
(CSIS) by Mr. George W. Handy, Director, with the participation of Ms.
Anne Solomon, CSIS Senior Advisor and Director of the Biotechnology
Institute
Ambassador Simonyi hosted a reception at the Embassy on the occasion
of the visit of the Hungarian Biotech delegation
