Embassy Honors Departing Hungary Desk Officer

The Embassy of Hungary held a reception yesterday in honor of Ms. Jane Messenger, Hungary Desk Officer at the Department of State, who is being re-assigned later this month in anticipation of her posting to Helsinki, Finland, in 2006.

Deputy Chief of Mission Viktor Szederkényi praised Ms. Messenger as a good friend of Hungary, who has been an efficient partner to the Embassy and always pleasant to work with. He presented Ms. Messenger with a letter of appreciation from Hungarian Foreign Minister Ferenc Somogyi, who wrote that he had "had only words of the highest praise" for her work from his colleagues.
