Heavyweight Transparency: Young Hungarian Architect Creates Buzz in DC

Hungarian architect Áron Losonczi delivered a presentation at the National Building Museum about his invention LiTraCon, or light-transmitting concrete, a revolutionary product that brings translucence to the traditionally opaque material.

Mr. Losonczi discussed the evolution and use of this unique material in various projects, among them the Freedom Tower in New York City. The lecture complemented the exhibition, sponsored by Lafarge North America, titled "Liquid Stone: New Architecture in Concrete," which also featured a five-foot tall LiTraCon wall. A reception hosted by the Hungarian Embassy preceded the program.
