Minister of Informatics and Communications Visited Washington, DC

Kálmán Kovács, the Hungarian Minister of Informatics and Communications, visited Washington, DC, between June 8-10, to meet with leading US government officials and business leaders.

Minister Kovács met with Under Secretary of State E. Anthony Wayne, Karen Evans, Administrator of the White House Office of E-Government and Information Technology, Under Secretary of Commerce Michelle O'Neill, as well as high-ranking officials in the field of IT policy, cyber security, and IT business.

Minister Kovács also visited the Hungarian Technology Center (HTEC) in Virginia, established 18 months ago with the goal of increasing the presence of Hungarian high-tech companies on the East Coast.  In the wake of HTEC's success in Virginia, Hungary is now in the process of establishing a similar Center in China.

The Minister also met with a group of young Hungarian-American IT professionals at the Kossuth House, in downtown Washington, DC.
