Ambassador and Mrs. Simonyi visit Juditka Sallai at the Children's National Medical Center

Ambassador and Mrs. Simonyi visited Juditka Sallai at the Children's National Medical Center where she had undergone a successful heart surgery performed by Richard Jonas, MD., Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery and Co-Director of the Children’s Heart Institute.

After being briefed by Gerard R. Martin, MD, Executive Director on the 10 year-old patient's state of health, Ambassador Simonyi thanked the medical team for the excellent care his young fellow citizen had received at the Center. Mr. and Mrs. Sallai were happy to tell the ambassador that, due to her quick recovery, Juditka can leave the hospital in a few days and travel back to Hungary in no more than three weeks.

The surgery was made possible by a donation from Larry King.
