Dr.
Michael Haltzel, a senior professional staff member, is leaving the Senate
Committee on Foreign Relations after eleven years of service.
"Mr.
Haltzel was working with, and helping,
Hungary during all these years in what was a very
crucial period in our history. Hungary became a member of NATO, and
there is a growing understanding on both sides of the Atlantic that strong
trans-Atlantic relations have no alternative.
Mike has a outstanding part in that, " said Ambassador András
Simonyi.
"I
wish to thank Mike for all he has done for Hungary, for all our
neighbors in Central Europe, for trans-Atlantic relations. I hope to stay
in touch," he added.
