The Embassy recently hosted the annual
meeting of the heads of Hungarian representations in the U.S.
Participants took notice of further overall progress in developing the
friendly relations between Hungary and the United States, highlighting the
importance of the contribution made by Hungarian honorary consuls.
New
prospects of widening the bilateral economic cooperation were discussed.
Special emphasis was put on the significance of the upcoming 50th
anniversary celebrations of the 1956 revolution in 2006. Participants
agreed to continue trying to identify as many ways of maximizing their own
resources as possible by combining them with other opportunities to convey
a sounding and convincing message to the local communities as well as to
the general public in the United States about the long-lasting
legacy of the Revolution.
