Ambassador Simonyi at Gala Ball of Chicago Hungarian Club

Ambassador Simonyi was the keynote speaker at the annual ball of the Hungarian Club of Chicago founded in 1922.

"I am proud to celebrate with you all the 84th Anniversary of the oldest and largest Hungarian organization in Chicago," said the Ambassador. I congratulate Mr. Paul Varga, the President of the organization, every member of the Hungarian Club, and all Hungarians and Hungarian Americans and their friends living in the area for promoting Hungarian culture and traditions."

In the course of the evening, the winners of the scholarship offered by the Hungarian Club were introduced to the guests and were presented their awards. Debutantes - girls in white gowns and boys in their tuxedos - accompanied by their parents, were also introduced to the local Hungarian community.
