Fifteen members of the American Chambers of Commerce in
Hungary, Romania and Slovakia started a "Door-Knock Visit" in
Washington, DC, on November 14, 2005.
During their visit, the members will meet with U.S.
Government officials in Washington to discuss issues of interest to
Central and Eastern Europe and the U.S.
The first leg of the program in Washington was a meeting
today with Ambassador András Simonyi at the Ambassador's Residence. The
Ambassador briefed members on trans-Atlantic relations, with a special
emphasis on economic issues. Romanian Ambassador Sorin Ducaru also
participated at the event.
AmCham Hungary recently celebrated the 15th Anniversary
of its founding. With six hundred members from twenty-two different
countries, representing two-thirds of the total FDI in Hungary, AmCham
Hungary is the eighth largest Chamber in Europe and the largest
association for investors in the country.
