Embassy Welcomes Young Hungarian Athletes, Participants at the Cleveland International Children’s Games

 

At a reception on August 7, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy, Viktor Szederkényi and the Embassy staff greeted young Hungarian athletes who participated at the International Children’s Games in Cleveland earlier that week. The student athletes represented 7 major Hungarian cities: Miskolc, Debrecen, Szombathely, Sopron, Kaposvár, Szolnok and Eger. Community leaders from these cities were also part of the Hungarian team. The Hungarian athletes won several medals during the Games including golds in water polo and track and field. Their trip to Washington, DC was sponsored by the Hungarian-American community of Cleveland.
