Otto von Habsburg, on U.S. Tour, Visits D.C.

 

Dr. Otto von Habsburg, a former Member of the European Parliament and President of the Pan-European Union, an outstanding advocate for Hungary's European integration, is paying a visit to the United States between April 9-22, 2005, accompanied by his wife, Archduchess Regina von Habsburg and two of their children, Archduchess Gabriella von Habsburg and Ambassador György Habsburg.

In Washington, along with U.S. Congressman Tom Lantos, he paid tribute at the bust of Kossuth Lajos and Raoul Wallenberg at a solemn wreath Laying Ceremony in the Capitol rotunda.

Yesterday, Dr. Otto von Habsburg addressed Central and East European American Leaders at a meeting hosted by the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America (HRFA) at the Kossuth House and participated at a Gala Dinner in his honor hosted by the Hungarian American Coalition at the Cosmos Club.

On April 14, Ambassador Simonyi hosted a dinner at the Residence in honor of Dr. Otto von Habsburg.
