His
Eminence Cardinal Péter Erdõ, Archbishop of Esztergom and Primate of
Hungary, visited the United States in July and August. During his trip, he
met with Hungarian communities around the country and visited numerous
universities.
During his visit to Washington, Cardinal Erdõ celebrated
mass at St. Matthew's Cathedral on August 1.
The Cardinal met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Heather Conley at the State
Department and paid a visit to the White House where he met with Ambassador Daniel Fried, Senior Director of the National Security Council.
Cardinal Erdõ, together with Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, opened the 12th International Conference on
Medieval Canon Law at the Catholic University of America on August 2.
