Curator Sarah Greenough led a preview of
the André
Kertész exhibition at the National Gallery of Art. Members of the
Kertész family were also present, and paid a visit to the residence of
the Ambassador the following day. Kertész is remembered as one of the
most influential figures of 20th-century photography, and the exhibition
leads the visitor through the whole career of one of the founding fathers
of modern photography from the early 1910's to his death in 1985.
