Ambassador András Simonyi met with Congressman Steny H. Hoyer in the Capitol Building on Oct. 7 to thank the Congressman for his active support in creating the necessary political framework for a bipartisan Hungarian American Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives and to discuss current foreign policy issues of mutual concern, the future of Euro-Atlantic structures and U.S. - Hungarian bilateral relations

The recently formed Hungarian American Caucus, Co-Chaired by Rep. Tom Lantos (D-CA) and Rep. Ernest J. Istook (R-OK) already has twelve members and, as Congressman Hoyer confirmed today, the Hungarian community can hereafter count on his support.

On Oct. 8, Ambassador András Simonyi met with Congressman Donald Manzullo, the Chairman of the Committee on Small Business, and his wife in the House of Representatives today to discuss the future business possibilities and potential cooperation areas between Hungary and the United States, focusing on small businesses, which play an important role in the economy of the State of Illinois and that of Hungary.
