Interior Minister Lamperth Concludes Visit to U.S.

 

Hungarian Minister of Interior Ms. Mónika Lamperth met with New York state Governor George Pataki on January 28. On behalf of Prime Minister Medgyessy, Ms. Lamperth invited Gov. Pataki to visit Hungary in March 2004. Gov. Pataki thanked Hungary for its contribution to U.S. rebuilding efforts in Iraq.

In the afternoon, Minister Lamperth met with New York City Deputy Mayor Daniel Doctoroff with whom they talked about bilateral cooperation in the field of urban security and the war on terror.

In Washington, D.C. between January 29 and 30, Minister Lamperth met with Attorney General John Ashcroft, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, Senator Richard G. Lugar, and FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III.
