The Republic of Hungary
has chosen Fairfax County as the site of its first technology center
in the United States.
Ambassador Simonyi
and visiting State Secretary György Csepeli celebrated the opening of
the center with state and county leaders today. The center will be in
the offices of the county's Economic Development Authority on Boone
Boulevard in Vienna.
Hungary chose the
location because of Virginia's reputation in technology and its
proximity to Washington and East Coast markets, said Ambassador
Simonyi. Hungary wants to use the center as an incubator to develop
U.S. contacts.
"This is an
excellent opportunity for Hungarian technology companies to
expand," Ambassador Simonyi said in a statement.
