Ambassador
András Simonyi met with staffers in the Congress to thank their
contribution to the creation of the Hungarian American Caucus and to brief
them on current issues on the agenda of bilateral relations.
The
Hungarian American Caucus was initiated in order to meet the long-standing
desire of the 1.5 million-strong Hungarian American community to have a
voice on Capitol Hill. Since its inception on June 3, 2003, the Caucus has
been joined by nineteen members of Congress. Congressmen Tom Lantos and
Ernest J. Istook are HAC's co-chairs.
