Hungarian Business Seminar in Detroit

 

Ambassador András Simonyi attended the Hungarian Investment and Trade Development Road Show in Detroit, Michigan entitled "Inventing Better Ways to Do Business." During the event, the Ambassador informed business representatives from the Detroit area about investment opportunities in Hungary, latest trends in the economy, as well as the most important aspects of Hungarian-American bilateral political relations. The Senior Director of the Hungarian Investment and Trade Development Agency, András Kiss-Dózsai, gave a presentation describing the investment climate in Hungary and the "Smart Hungary" program, which comprises incentives offered to potential investors.

The Detroit Regional Economic Partnership and Mr. Ralph Gerson, President and CEO of Guardian Industries, organized a roundtable discussion on business opportunities for the automotive industry in Hungary. In his presentation, Ambassador Simonyi underlined that Hungary's accession to the EU will provide additional opportunities for American investors in our country.

Apart from executives of companies such General Motors, Delphi Corp., Lear Corp., Ford Motor Co., Visteon and Guardian Industries, which already have major investments in Hungary, numerous business representatives of Michigan companies attended the events.

After the two successful Boston and Detroit events, New York, Los Angeles and Seattle will host the road show of the Hungarian Investment and Trade Development Agency.
