I condemn the conference taking place in Tehran questioning the Holocaust. This is against our basic principles, contradicts the facts, and hurts the memories of the millions who died and suffered in the Holocaust. It is even more disturbing that there were participants from countries where the Holocaust had actually happened. There is no excuse for this, nor for the violation of basic human rights anywhere. We and future generations have a responsibility to remember the Holocaust and to never let it happen again. I will stay active in the efforts for Holocaust remembrance and cooperate with others to make sure that ideas and ideologies similar to that of Nazism and fascism will never have the chance to rise again, in Hungary or anywhere in the world. We must stand up for the rights of Jews, Christians, Muslims, or followers of any other faith.
