Embassy-Concert by the Students of European Acadamy of Music and Art

     In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary for the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, the Embassy of the Republic of Hungary  in cooperation with the International Club of DC hosted a very special evening on November 3d featuring Hungarian music, culture and food. The evening included a wonderful piano concert featuring the works of Hungarian composers.

     The piano concert was performed by young musicians from the European Academy of Music and Art under the tutelage of Dr. Bella Euginia Oster. Their exciting musical profiles have been full with performances at many prestigious stages in U.S.A and abroad such as the Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center for the Performing, The United Nations, over 30 embassies, the White House, The Pentagon, The U.S. Capitol, the State Department, the World Bank, and numerous of international and national Congresses and Forums.

    Viktor Szederkényi DCM opened the evening conveying the greetings of Ambassador Simonyi who was on another important mission outside DC emphasizing the importance of the last concert at the Embassy in  the series of 1956. commemorations. Sanjaya Hettihewa, president of International Club of DC as well as dr. Bella Oster made also their opening remarks followed by works of Bartók, Brahms, Cziffra, Dohnányi, Liszt and  J. Strauss Jr..

    The audience of the full house event celebrated the young artists aged between 4 and 18 at great length making them busy too during the reception where traditional Hungarian food had been offered.
