NAFSA Annual Conference And Expo In Washington

 

NAFSA hosted its 60th Annual Conference and Expo in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from May 25–30, 2008 attracting more than 9,600 delegates from over 140 countries to Washington, DC, the center of the US government and the thriving cosmopolitan center of commerce and innovation.

NAFSA, the Association of International Educators is a member organization promoting international education and providing professional development opportunities to the field. Hundreds of NAFSA members volunteer to serve the Association and thousands advocate for international education.

The Embassy of Hungary hosted a reception in honour of the Hungarian-American Fulbright Commission for Educational Exchange. Executive Director Huba Brückner emphasized the importance of the exemplary cooperation between the Fulbright Commissions of the Visegrád Countries and their joint presence at the NAFSA conference. He said the conference was a great opportunity to network and meet new people in the international educational community.

During the Embassy reception, diplomats from the State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and executives of the Fulbright Commissions of the Visegrád countries had the chance to further professional relationships.

Guests of the Embassy reception came from the Fulbright Commissions of the four Visegrád countries as well as the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the State Department
