Hungarian 'Maestro' Opens EU Short Film Festival in Greenville, South Carolina
 

Presented by the Peace Center and Upstate Film Society, the European Short Film Festival in Greenville, South Carolina will feature eight of the best new short films from various European countries on Friday, December 26, at 7pm and Saturday, December 27, from 4pm, 6:30 and 9pm.

The festival opens with Maestro, a charming Hungarian animated film, written and directed by Géza M. Tóth, and nominated for Academy Award in the Best Foreign Film category in 2006. In this exquisitely crafted 5-minute movie, the maestro is carefully preparing to go on stage five minutes before the big performance, and time is slowly ticking away.

Géza M. Tóth is a well established Hungarian director with several animated movies, including Ergo (2008), Bluebeard's Castle (2007), Maestro (2005), The Miraculous Mandarin (2005), Icar (1996), Wall-walkers (1994), The Pied Piper (1992).
