For the 100th anniversary of the birth of acclaimed Hungarian-born, Academy Award winning composer Miklós Rózsa, Classical Naxos has released a brand new, exciting recording of, perhaps, the composer's most important work: the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, Opus 24.

Hungarian-born composer Miklós Rózsa

Coupled with an additional performance of Rózsa's Sinfonia Concertante Violin, Cello and Orchestra, Opus 29, this eagerly anticipated album, featuring the dazzling violin virtuosity of gifted Russian artist Anastasia Khitruk, has now been released, and is available for purchase.

The Rózsa Anniversary Project, initiated by Ms. Khitruk to raise awareness about the brilliant ouvre of the composer, has been endorsed and supported by the Hungarian Embassy in Washington DC. The Embassy hosted a concert in tribute of the 100th anniversary of Miklós Rózsa's birth, featuring Anastasia Khitruk and Emilio Colon, as well as an introduction by Grammy Award winner musician János Starker, on April 14, 2007. (More information on the concert here.)
