Celebration of Europe at Georgetown University

The 27 Member States of the European Union and the European Club of Georgetown University (GU) organized a European Union Fair, titled "Celebration of Europe", at the classic Georgetown campus of GU on Friday, November 2.

During the morning panel discussion, Portugal Ambassador João de Vallera, Ambassador of the European Commission John Bruton, and Slovenian Ambassador Samuel Žbogar discussed the future of EU and the Lisbon Agenda.

The afternoon session of the European Union Fair commenced with the welcome speech of former Polish President Aleksander Kwaśniewski, who is a great supporter of the European Club of GU.

After that, diplomats and representatives of the EU27, including the Embassy of Hungary, presented scholarship opportunities of their universities, colleges, and research institutions, and also cultural places of interest and touristic destinations in their country.
