November 15, 2007 American Hungarian Foundation George Washington Awards Dinner at New York's Waldorf Astoria The 45th Annual George Washington Awards Dinner of the American Hungarian Foundation was in New York City at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. First presented in 1961, the prize list of the prestigious award includes such luminary figures of the Hungarian American community as Tódor Kármán, János Neumann, George von Bekesy, Edwards Teller, Jenő Wigner, Georg de Hevesy, Marcel Breuer, Antal Doráti, Dénes Gábor, André Kertész, Albert Szent-Györgyi, Michael Korda, Cornell Capa, Elie Wiesel, Peter Zwack, Tony Curtis, Kati Marton, Peter Munk, Béla Bartók, György Oláh, Joseph Pulitzer, István Deák, John Lukács, Alexander Brody, Charles Simonyi, Éva Zeisel, Edith Lauer, as well as Former Hungarian President Árpád Göncz, Rabbi Arthur Schneier, Governor George Pataki, Former American President Gerald Ford, Former US Ambassador to Budapest Nancy Goodman Brinker, Yehudi Menuhin, and Raoul Wallenberg. The 2007 George Washington Awards The 2007 George Washington Awards were presented to Thomas Peterffy, Chairman of Interactive Brokers Group and Barry Farber, Polyglott Radio Talk Show Host. Thomas Peterffy has been Chairman of Interactive Brokers Group since its inception, a company with a market value in excess of $10 billion, which specializes in the building and deployment of automated trading and brokerage systems for professional traders and investors worldwide. Thomas Peterffy and Ambassador Ferenc Somogyi Barry Farber is ranked among the greatest American radio talk show hosts. His career includes WINS-AM, WOR-AM and WMCA-AM and ABC Radio Network nationwide, and Talk Radio Network. He speaks more than 20 languages, including Hungarian.
