Ambassador Simonyi met with Congressman Ed Towns (D-NY) to discuss anti-Semitic incidents in Hungary. The Ambassador made clear that Hungarians are not anti-semitic. The Hungarian government is deeply concerned about the recent incidents and takes appropriate measure to prevent them. The Ambassador and the Congressman agreed to meet the representatives of the Jewish community in Brooklyn, New York in the near future to discuss this issue.
