Ambassador Simonyi and Nada invited to their Residence AFTA Founder and Chairperson Lolo Sarnoff and President Julia Hopping and many distiguished representatives of Board of Trustees, Benefactors, Patrons and others to celebrate and honor the mission and accomplishment of the Arts for the Aging.

Since 1988, Arts for the Aging, Inc., (AFTA) has been providing artistic outreach services to psychologically and physically impaired aged people in senior day care centers and not-for-profit nursing homes in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. AFTA fulfils its mission to work closely with these senior day care centers and foster participation of seniors in creative and stimulating art activities, allowing them to enjoy an enhanced and healthy aging process as well as feel a deep sense of accomplishment and enjoyment.

Ambassador Simonyi in his speech addressed to Founder and Chairperson Lolo Sarnoff, President Julia Hopping and to all their guests pointed out the importance of this caritative organization in the life of so many senior citizens in the metropolitan Washington DC area and cited its activity as an excellent example to be folowed by many other countries worldwide.
