Hungarian Foreign Affairs Committee Delegation Visits Washington

A bipartisan delegation of the Hungarian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee visited Washington May 6-8th to discuss current foreign policy issues of mutual concern, such as the new US administration's policy regarding Central Europe, Russia, and energy security.

The delegation was headed by Chairman Zsolt Németh (Fidesz), and included Mr. József Kozma (MSZP) and Mr. András Klien (Staff Director of the Committee). The delegation’s program included meetings with Congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee's Europe Subcommittee, US officials at the National Security Council and the State Department.

The delegation visited the Kossuth statute in the US Capitol. At a dinner hosted by Ambassador Ferenc Somogyi, the delagtion met with representatives of the Hungarian American community
